An unforgettable Singleton whisky and food pairing dinner was hosted by The Como restaurant in Tigoni recently. The sensory journey was guided by the culinary artistry of Chef Stephanie Kiragu unfolded.
Also known as Steph the chef, owner and executive chef at Como, she meticulously crafted three-course menu, each dish representing a harmonious marriage of ingredients, textures, and aromas infused with the complexities of The Singleton.

At the event, Wangeci Gakenia, Brand Manager – The Singleton, extended an invitation to consumers into a world of pleasure, delighting their senses with exciting culinary experiences showcasing The Singleton as the single malt whisky that adds an easy and interesting twist of deliciousness to elevate the moment.
The immersive experiences, partnered with a globally trained and experienced chef, aim to unveil the true depth of the Singleton experience by showcasing how different food flavors are complemented by the whisky.



The culinary journey commenced with a Grape, Apple, and Camembert starter featuring Deep Fried Camembert with Grape reduction, Apple Compote, and Candied Walnuts—all elevated by a whisper of The Singleton’s 12 Years signature creamy toffee notes.



Following the appetizer, Chef Steph presented a main course,Pan Seared Grouper entailing butter baby potatoes, charred asparagus, barley puree and oil béarnaise. She also presented the Molo Lamb, infused with the essence of herbs and spices, finding perfect harmony with the warm smokiness of toasted oak—a hallmark of The Singleton’s aged character. Each bite was a delightful dance of savory and smoky, leaving guests yearning for more.



No culinary journey is complete without a sweet finale, and Chef Steph’s Singleton 18 Gelato did not disappoint. The velvety smoothness of ice cream infused with the rich, sumptuous berry flavors of The Singleton 18-year-old whisky created an unforgettable ending, leaving guests in awe of the marriage of cream and complexity.



“I have wanted to be a chef since I was 9 years of age. I have always loved the flavor of food and how it allows us to explore different cultures. Through creating this menu, I wanted people to enjoy the many flavors that The Singleton has to offer,” said Steph the Chef.



The curated experience at The Como went beyond a mere meal; it immersed guests into the world of The Singleton. The intimate setting and expert insights into the whisky’s production provided a unique perspective.
